Newman Smith H.S. Class of 2001
This
scholarship was established in 2001 by the Newman Smith High
School alumni graduating class of 2001.
Available
to students graduating from: Newman
Smith High School
Scholarship Criteria:

Recipient
should be a graduating senior of Newman Smith High School with
plans to attend a four-year college/university,
vocational/technical school.

An overall
four-year GPA of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 grade-point scale).

Recipient
should demonstrate leadership and school involvement through
school leadership activities, membership and offices held at
Newman Smith High School in any extracurricular activities
including but not limited to athletics and fine arts.

Recipient
should reflect the values of Newman Smith High School and be
an example of the school's motto (Honor, Integrity
Achievement).

Financial
need or community-based volunteerism should not be used in
selecting the recipient.

Students
interested in this scholarship should present an essay of 50
words or less on a) why the student should be the recipient or
b) the importance of student leadership and/or school spirit.
Students
should also present two letters of recommendations from two
Newman Smith faculty or staff members. |
